The East Tennessee District elected Ron DeWitt on 14 July 2021 as its new superintendent. DeWitt currently pastors Shelbyville Church of the Nazarene in Tennessee.

“Judy and I are so excited as we begin this new aspect of our ministry on the East TN District," DeWitt said. "It’s an extreme honor and privilege to lead our district family into the future and discover all that God has in store for us!”

He will replace Ronald McCormack, who is retiring after 21 years of leadership. DeWitt will begin the assignment on 14 August 2021.

DeWitt graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University (then College) with a bachelor’s in pastoral ministries and a minor in Greek. He has served as pastor at Long Creek Church of the Nazarene in Tennessee (1978-1980), Chapman’s Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Tennessee (1980-1983), McMinnville Church of the Nazarene in Tennessee (1983-1984), Pleasant View Church of the Nazarene in Tennessee (1984-1986), Corbin Church of the Nazarene in Kentucky (1986-1991), and Shelbyville Church of the Nazarene, where he has served since 1991.

Ron and his wife, Judy DeWitt, currently reside in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
