In Memoriam: 28 April 2017

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 24-28 April 2017.

John Bass, 86, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away 21 April. He was a retired minister, serving in Florida. He is survived by his wife, Mary Bass.

Meryle (Carrier) Burkhart, 86, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away 21 April. She was a retired missionary, serving in the Philippines and Guyana. She is survived by her husband, retired minister and missionary Pete Burkhart, who served in Washington, Idaho, the Philippines, and Guyana. 

Ella (Mackey) Gibson, 86, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away 25 April. She was the widow of retired minister Raymond Gibson, who served in Illinois and Kentucky. Raymond Gibson passed away in 2000.

Joy (Winsor) Keith, 61, of Wexford, Pennsylvania, passed away 25 April. She was the wife of retired minister Douglas Keith, who served in Tennessee, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Maine, New York, Florida, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. 

Lucille (Meredith) Law, 96, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away 24 April. She was a retired evangelist and chaplain, serving in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Law, in 2015. 

Riley "June" Lawrence Jr., 90, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away 21 April. He was a retired minister, serving in Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, and North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (O'Daire) Lawrence, in December. 

C. Wayne Miller, 80, of Monticello, Florida, passed away 24 April. He was a retired minister, serving in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Miller. 

Betty Morris, 79, of Sumter, South Carolina, passed away 26 April. She was the wife of retired minister Robert Morris, who served in South Carolina. 

Andrew Nyoni of Zimbabwe passed away 23 April. He was superintendent of the Zimbabwe West District. He is survived by his wife, Sephukile. 

Roy Shifley, 99, of Charleston, Illinois, passed away 22 April. He was a retired minister, serving in Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Shifley, in 1999.
