Earlier this month, Northwest Nazarene University announced the appointment of Joshua Jensen as its new dean of the College of Business. Jensen has been at NNU since 2008, most recently serving as director of graduate studies and associate professor of leadership.

“I am honored to have been chosen to serve as the next dean of the College of Business,” Jensen said. “The College of Business is uniquely positioned to be a strategic partner with the local business community, providing both expertise and a strong talent pool, and I look forward to strengthening these partnerships and leading the college forward into the future.”

Jensen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from University of La Verne in 1999, a Master of Public Administration from California State University Northridge in 2000, and a Doctor of Education with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2008. In 2017, he earned his Master of Business Administration from NNU. He also holds certification through the Society for Human Resource Management as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

Jensen is a published author, speaker, leadership consultant, and seasoned business leader with a longstanding career that spans many industries, including higher education, K-12 education, non-profit healthcare, local government, and the private sector.

“Josh has already built relationships with hundreds of business leaders in the Boise Valley and across the Northwest,” Vice President for Academic Affairs Brad Kurtz-Shaw said. “We are lucky to have a new leader for the College of Business who cares so deeply for students and the transformative power of an NNU education.”

The dean of the College of Business will serve as a member of the university’s Academic Leadership Team and will collaborate with the College of Business faculty to lead and direct a focused effort of developing relationships with the local business community. This strategic leadership role will also include a half-time faculty appointment in the College of Business.
