USA/Canada Region announces new campus ministry coordinator

USA/Canada Region announces new campus ministry coordinator

by | 07 Jan 2016

The USA/Canada Region Nazarene Youth International office announced Chris Bean as the new campus ministry coordinator for the region. The decision was made with input from other campus ministry leaders.

Chris Bean has served as a campus minister at the University of Cincinnati for seven years with the Coalition for Christian Outreach and as a director of campus ministries for the Southwestern Ohio District Church of the Nazarene during that same time. He is a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University (1993). After being ordained in 1999, he pursued and completed a Master of Divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary (2005) and has more than 20 years of ministry experience in youth, worship, and college ministry.

Chris and his wife, Debbie, reside just east of Cincinnati with their three children, Jessica, Jaquelyn, and Josiah. He can often be found with a cup of coffee in hand (which he probably roasted himself at Pneuma Coffee Roasters) as he engages with university students in Cincinnati.

Campus ministry is vital in reaching students after they graduate from high school and traditional youth ministry settings. The USA/Canada Region is inspired by the number of leaders actively reaching out to campuses near them and anticipates continued expansion in this ministry throughout the region under Chris Bean’s leadership.
