In Memoriam Poppies

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 11-15 May 2020.

Donald Ardrey, 67, of Forest, Mississippi, passed away 14 May 2020. He was a retired ministers, serving in Idaho, Northwest Territories, Canada, Alberta, Canada, California, Indiana, and Texas.

Carol Hazelton, 85, of McLoud, Oklahoma, passed away 3 May 2020. She was the wife of John Hazelton, pastor of Meeker Country Faith Church of the Nazarene. 

Eleanor Hawley, 93, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away 12 May 2020. She was the widow of Richard Hawley, a retired minister and evangelist who served in Illinois. Richard passed away in 2016.

Larry Lash, 77, of White Lake, Michigan, passed away 2 May 2020. He was the husband of minister Sally Lash, who serves at Holly Church of the Nazarene.

Jose Olivarez, 78, of Sebastian, Texas, passed away 4 May 2020. He was the husband of retired minister Elda Olivarez, who served in Texas and Arizona.

Gerald Silva, 66, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away 8 May 2020. He was a retired minister serving in Colorado, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Connie Silva.

Roma Smith, 98, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away 10 May 2020. She was a retired minister, serving in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, and Mississipi. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired minister Grafton Smith, who passed away in 2018.
