Ecuador soccer ministry hopes to develop players physically, spiritually
The Sierra Centro District believes in helping children develop skills and passions in conjunction with Christian formation. After the district’s children’s orchestra became successful, leaders hoped their vision of soccer formation schools that even fed a professional team would be successful as well.
Louisiana church resources community with hope, grace
When a severe storm struck Shreveport, Louisiana, in mid-June, it knocked out power for over 250,000 people in the area, prompting the mayor to issue a state of emergency for the city. For nearly a week, city residents were without power during a heatwave that caused heat index values to skyrocket to over 105 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ukraine church vows to continue ministry despite missile strike
The Odesa Church of the Nazarene building was severely damaged during a barrage of missile strikes in Odesa, Ukraine, during the early morning on 23 July. The explosion blew out all of the windows and rendered the doors unusable, causing the church to shut down for over a week.
Love Your Neighbor blesses multiple Cuba communities
The biggest strategy in this site was to motivate and involve the women in the community to utilize their sewing talents. In the planning and organization of the event, they took the lead and offered their skills to the church. It allowed us to create connections in the community and present the plan of salvation. Several women made decisions for Christ.
First Discover Missions event helps young people understand missions call
“Our goal was to create an intentionally international learning space for young adults to wrestle with their call to missions and be introduced to multiple ministries they could step into,” said Brent Hulett, director of Missions Mobilization for the denomination. “We hope this event will encourage young adults to step into full-time missions earlier in their careers.”

The Kawangware Church of the Nazarene in Kenya recently opened a new Sunday school facility, fulfilling its commitment to serve one of the most impoverished communities on the African continent by continuing to invest in the local children and youth.
Madagascar experiences growth thanks to church planting initiative
Madagascar has experienced slow growth in the Church of the Nazarene for many years. Recently, District Superintendent Georges Patrice Ratovoarilala led a drive to evangelize and plant churches in villages toward the northern part of Madagascar with a 10-person team from the cities of Antananarivo and Mahajanga.
Recovery classes bring holistic care to Indonesia community
Nazarene Aletheia Christian Church, led by Pastor George Sorontou, started the Saya Pengikut Kristus (SPK program) in 2008. The church has completed 38 cycles since then. SPK program is a recovery class designed for those struggling with addiction, divorce, and other difficult situations. They are required to read one to two chapters in the Bible and then give a report or share their learning with their friends. They are also invited to create an accountability group to support and help each other.
