The Sunday session of the Global NMI Convention was a celebration that highlighted the work of the regions and celebrated the more than 90 missionaries commissioned since the 2017 Global NMI Convention.

The Asia-Pacific Region and Mesoamerica Region reports were presented with the help of people from their respective regions dressed in national costumes.

The ballroom was transformed into a holy place of presence and prayer as delegates gathered around these missionaries, who surrounded the regional banners. Aisles were crowded as delegates reached out to “lay hands” on these representatives of Nazarene Missions on all six regions.

“NMI loves missionaries, and we hope that each one can feel the warmth and sincere embrace of global NMI for those who ‘go’ on our behalf to the nations,” said Debra Voelker, USA/Canada Region NMI coordinator.

Monday’s session will be the final session of the 24th Global NMI Convention. One final resolution will be voted upon, and there will be a special liturgy to install the newly elected global NMI president with the passing of the presiding gavel from Philip Weatherill to Christine Trent-Mosuela.

Lola Brickey, global NMI director, will present a final challenge and close the 24th Convention with a special blessing and commissioning of all NMI delegates and friends to return to their districts and local churches and live out, with great passion, the identity of NMI as the global missions advocate in every local church, nurturing a spirit of missions, and mobilizing into action, impacting people around the world.
