USA/Canada Region hosts first-ever festival of young preachers at M19

by | 18 Jan 2019

In conjunction with the Church of the Nazarene’s M19 Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, women and men aged 16-30 are encouraged to participate in a first-ever festival of young preachers.

Directed by Preacher’s Magazine Editor Tammy Carter and Northwest Nazarene University Professor Jay Akkerman, the goal of this festival is to offer a supportive platform where younger Nazarenes can begin developing their own unique preaching voices.

Akkerman explained the festival’s goal ties in with the M19 Conference theme, “The Gospel Unleashed.”

“Our goal is to provide opportunities for younger Nazarene voices to explore what it means to faithfully express the gospel,” Akkerman said. “We’re grateful for this opportunity to celebrate this next generation with our Nazarene family.”

M19 participants are invited to be a part of the congregation as the young preachers deliver an original 12-15-minute sermon from a text of their own choosing. Look for the Festival of Young Nazarene Preachers in the M19 program booklet for preaching room locations.
