Pastors and lay leaders of Mercy Church and Mindon Christian Church of the Nazarene in Myanmar gathered in their village for local NYI training from July 19 to 21, 2024. Though the participants faced many challenges before and during the training, they went home with a renewed commitment to reaching out to their young people, unwavering faith, and support from the community that they serve.

Their experience during the training became a beacon of hope and resilience to press on amid the difficult circumstances in the Myanmar Central District.

Before the start of the training, a tragic incident occurred in the village where the training was held. This incident caused chaos in the area, making travel exceedingly difficult. Despite this, after much prayer and consultation with leaders, the organizing team continued the training. Their determination to learn, coupled with the grace of God, enabled them to overcome these formidable obstacles.

As the training began, the situation in the village worsened. Government officials declared martial law in the town, which brought significant hardships to the residents. It also restricted access to shops and raised the prices of goods. But amid these challenges, God’s protection was evident. The training continued. Everyone who attended remained safe in the village.

The young people who attended the training were inspired and showed remarkable enthusiasm and dedication. They were eager to serve the Lord and apply what they had learned in the training.

The outcome of this gathering is a divine blessing and a testament to the power of faith and perseverance.

The success of this training in Myanmar Central District was possible through collective effort and divine support. It highlights the unwavering spirit of a community united in faith, determined to rise above adversity for the glory of God.
