2021 Nazarene missionaries commissioned

The Church of the Nazarene's Global Missions office recommended 24 missionaries for commissioning during the 97th General Board 28 February held virtually.

These missionaries have each been serving in long-term strategic assignments in diverse settings around the world. The commissioning of missionaries is a recognition of the life and call of the missionary, an indication of the missionary’s willingness to serve wherever the church needs them, and an affirmation of their service into the future.

Stephen and Rebecca Barber have served together as missionaries in Thailand since 2016. Stephen works in the area of church development and discipleship, while Rebecca serves as the South East Asia Field treasurer. They have two daughters. Their home church is on the Michigan District. The Barbers are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve the Asia-Pacific Region.

Fernando & Ana Maria Carvalho have served together as missionaries in S.Tomé and Príncipe since 2016. Fernando serves as the country coordinator for the Sao Tomé district and is involved in training pastors and leaders as well as the planting and organizing of new church plants. Ana serves in compassionate ministries with women and youth, helping to rescue youth from addictions and societal issues. They have two sons. Their home church is on the Cabo Verde North District. The Carvalho's are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment, to serve the Africa Region.

Camilo and Sara Gonzalez have served together as missionaries in Equatorial Guinea since 2017. Both Camilo and Sara serve as the Work and Witness Coordinators in Equatorial Guinea on the Africa South Field. They have three children. Their home church is on the Indianapolis District. The Gonazalez's are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve the Africa Region.

Evans and Njeri Katanga have served together as missionaries in Ghana since 2016. Evans serves as the Anglophone West Africa Field education coordinator, Ghana national board chairman, and the field administrator. Njeri serves as the field child sponsorship coordinator and children's ministries coordinator. They have two daughters, and one baby due in the coming days. Their home church is on the Kenya Central District. The Katangas are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve the Africa Region.

Roger and Damaris Kellogg have served together as missionaries in Guatemala since 2018. Roger serves as the North Central Field Work and Witness coordinator, and Damaris serves as the compassionate ministries coordinator. They have two daughters. Their home church is on the Intermountain District. The Kelloggs are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve the Mesoamerica Region.

In-Kwon Kim and Jeong-Seok Nam have served together as missionaries in Tongas since 2008. In-Kwon serves as director of the Mango Tree Center, and Jeong-Seok serves as the program director of the Mango Tree Center. They have three children. Their home church is on the New Zeland District. The Kims are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve the Asia-Pacific Region. 

Donghwan Kwon (Bill) and Yunbum Kim (Mill) have served together as missionaries since 2008. Donghwan is the Field Strategy Coordinator for the South Asia Field, and Yunbum is an English instructor at Chapman International College, and a translator and interpreter for English, Korean, and Thai. They live in Thailand and have four children. Their home district is on the South Korea National District. The Kwons are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve the Asia-Pacific Region.

Wilfredo and Ana Zoila Marciaga have served together as missionaries in Panama since 2017. Wilfredo serves as the regional literature coordinator, and Ana Zoila serves as the regional director's secretary, regional secretary, and regional general assembly coordinator. Their home church is on the Panama Central and Guatemala Central Districts. Wilfredo and Ana Zoila are being comissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve the Mesoamerica region.

Ben and Katherine Radcliffe have served together as missionaries in Papua New Guinea since 2017. Ben serves as head of surgery and medical doctor at Kudjip Nazarene Hospital and Katherine is a stay-at-home mom to five children and also a medical doctor. Their home church is on the North Central Ohio District. The Radcliffes are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve the Asia-Pacific Region.

Eliezel & Tammy Soto have served together as missionaries in Panama since 2016. They are co-coordinators of work and witness in Panamá. They have three children. Their home church is on the Dominican Republic Central District, and Eastern Michigan District. The Sotos are being commissioned as missionaries on global assignment to serve the Mesoamerica Region.

Pablo and Viviana Tello have served together as missionaries in Paraguay since 2018. Pablo is the holistic ministry coordinator for Paraguay, and Viviana is the national treasurer for Paraguay, as well as the national women's ministries coordinator. They have two children and a baby due at any time. Their home church is on the Central Argentina District. The Tellos are being commissioned on global assignment to serve the South America Region.

Myunghoon Um (Sunny) and Jiyoung Lee (Lisa) have served together as missionaries in Mongolia since 2014. They are pioneer missionaries and serve in church development in Mongolia. They have two children. Their home church is on the South Korea National District. The Ums are being commissioned as missionaries on Global Assignment to serve the Asia-Pacific Region.
