Kendall Franklin was appointed superintendent of the Kansas District on 1 February 2024. He currently serves as pastor of Woodland Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene in Wichita, Kansas.

General Superintendent David Busic made the appointment in consultation with the Kansas District Advisory Board and the Board of General Superintendents.

“I am surprised, grateful, and humbled to be appointed as the Kansas District Superintendent,” Franklin said. “I hope to build on the healthy culture championed and advanced by Dr. Jim Bond. Denise and I love and treasure the great people of the Kansas District and we are so honored to have this privilege to serve with them.”

Kendall’s appointment becomes effective 5 March 2024. He replaces Jim Bond, who was appointed superintendent of the Oklahoma District.

An alumnus of Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene University) with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree, Kendall served on staff at churches in Kansas, Oklahoma, and California before accepting the pastorate of Cimarron Church of the Nazarene in Kansas. He served there from 1990 to 1995 before pastoring Inspire Church of the Nazarene in Hutchison, Kansas, until 2008.

In 2008, Kendall became pastor of Kankakee College Church of the Nazarene, serving until 2013, when he moved to Arizona to pastor CrossRoads Church of the Nazarene in Chandler for six years. He has pastored Woodland Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene since 2020.

Kendall and his wife, Denise, currently reside in Wichita, Kansas
