Lenten Postcards

For Lent 2020, General Superintendent Emeritus Jesse Middendorf and Mount Vernon Nazarene Unviersity Chaplain Stephanie Lobdell have co-authored Lenten Postcards: Daily Devotions Inspired by The Book of Common Prayer

Lenten Postcards will focus on daily scripture readings and will bring readers on the 40-day journey through Lent.

“When Jesse Middendorf invited me to join him on The Foundry Publishing’s 2020 Lent project, we discussed the approach we would take," Lobdell said. "We wanted the daily Scripture readings to be central, not peripheral, to the book. We also wanted the book to have a specific trajectory—a clear directionality from Ash Wednesday to Easter morning. As Jesus journeys to the cross through the Gospel story, we wanted readers to feel like companions on that journey.”

This devotional is now available for purchase as part of the Lenten Postcards resource for church communities. A companion Lenten Postcards Pastors Resource download is also available at TheFoundryPublishing.com.

Caption
