APNTS New Life Mission Center dedication

Seminary President Floyd T. Cunningham joined with Korean partners from SangAmDong Church of the Nazarene and Onnuri Methodist Church on June 17 to dedicate the New Life Mission Center on the campus of Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Joining the Korean pastors were members from their respective churches as well as friends, faculty, students, and staff of APNTS

The dedication came just a few weeks prior to the actual completion of the building project, but provided a meaningful time for donors and partners to tour the facility into which they had put their generous support.

The special ceremony was planned to coincide with the presence of Shin Min-Gyoo and Jeong Myeong Muk, who taught the seminary’s summer module courses.

The ceremony included hymns and liturgy of dedication, special music from APNTS students, and a special dedication message from Dr. Jeong of Onnuri Methodist Church.

Following the symbolic presentation of the facility’s keys to Cunningham by APNTS architect Eric Sanchez, an official ribbon cutting was done in front on the new building.  APNTS Professor Kwon Dong Hwan then led APNTS partners on a guided tour of the new facilities.

The initial purpose of the center was to provide housing for Work-and-Witness teams and missionaries coming to APNTS and the Philippines.  While this purpose will certainly be realized, this facility also will provide housing for other groups coming to APNTS for short-term courses, seminars, workshops in missions, English, and the new holistic child development program.

This facility will quickly grow in usefulness as the seminary develops other facilities, including the Cobb Worship Center and the Horizon Room in the Nielson Center for Evangelism and Education, which is adjacent to the new center.

The first floor of center features hotel-like accommodations with full amenities and services.  The second level provides dormitory accommodations, which will be ideal for groups visiting the campus, while the third floor will include two apartments for visiting faculty members, complete with a kitchen and both indoor and outdoor dining spaces.

The new facility will provide a great resource for ministry to APNTS and its surrounding area.  The school extends its deepest gratitude to the SangAmDong and Onnuri churches for their generous support and continued partnership.
