In Memoriam: 23 June 2023
The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 11-23 June 2023.
Lyle Akers, 102, of Apple Valley, California, passed away 10 June 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, and California. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elayne Akers, who passed away in 2013.
Kathleen Casseday, 88, of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away 10 June 2023. She was the widow of Lynn Casseday, a retired minister who served in Tennessee, Florida, and Arkansas. Lynn passed away in 2022.
Hal Cauthron Jr., 78, of Bethany, Oklahoma, passed away 19 June 2023. He was a retired minister and educator, serving in Tennessee, South Africa, and Oklahoma. He was the dean of the Theology/Religion department of Southern Nazarene University from 2012-2017. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cauthron.
Raymond Millard, 89, of Spokane Valley, Washington, passed away 11 June 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Washington, Montana, and Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marge Millard, who passed away in 2013.
R. Wade Powers, 91, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away 11 June 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Mary Powers.
D. Wayne Rose, 66, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away 9 June 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Rose.
Beulah Roustio, 91, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away 8 June 2023. She was the wife of Earl Roustio, a retired minister who served in Nebraska and Indiana.
K. Darrell Spencer, 81, of Trenton, Ohio, passed away 9 June 2023. He was a retired minister who served in Colorado, Kansas, Arkansas, Virginia, and Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Janice Spencer.
Ramon "R.G." Vanderpool, 82, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away 14 June 2023. He was a retired minister, chaplain, and educator who served in Washington, Minnesota, Iowa, Oregon, West Virginia, and Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Janice Vanderpool.
David Warren, 68, of New Castle, Indiana, passed away 18 June 2023. He has been the pastor of Richmond Church of the Nazarene in Richmond, Indiana, since 2019. He served previously at churches in Arkansas, Texas, and Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Warren.
