Asia-Pacific Regional Director Mark Louw announced that Lawrence T. “Larry” Bollinger has been elected as the eighth president of Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary. He has been serving as the institutional advancement vice president at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, USA, since August 2016.

Bollinger succeeds Bruce Oldham, who resigned in May 2019 to become the lead pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Winter Haven, Florida, USA.

Previously, Bollinger served as global director of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries from 2004 to 2016, traveling to more than 100 countries and working with staff to implement global humanitarian programs. As CEO and president of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Inc., a separate nonprofit that works with government and foundation programs, Bollinger has overseen multimillion-dollar initiatives funded by USAID and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Bollinger also served in the Philippines as Nazarene Compassionate Ministries coordinator for the Asia-Pacific Region for three years from 2001, after serving with NCM since January 1996.

In 2016, Bollinger was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Ethical Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University and completed Harvard University’s Executive Training in Strategic Management for leaders of nongovernmental organizations program. Bollinger also holds a Master of Business Administration in development economics and international development from Eastern University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Eastern Nazarene College in 1991.

Larry is married to Lynne Bollinger, who has been the chaplain at Eastern Nazarene College since June 2017. They have three children: two sons, Brendan and Jesse, and a daughter, Kari.
