Two new district superintendents were recently elected on the USA/Canada Region.

Andy Monnin was elected superintendent of the Northwestern Ohio District on 23 June 2023. Monnin is the pastor of Upper Valley Community Church of the Nazarene in Piqua, Ohio.

Monnin will replace Gregory Mason, who has served as interim superintendent since Geoff Kunselman began a new assignment as director of Stewardship Development in April. Monnin’s assignment is effective 1 September 2023.

Monnin began serving on staff at Upper Valley Community in 2001. He earned a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministries from Nazarene Bible College in 2003. He continued to serve full-time on staff at Upper Valley Community until 2012, when he became the lead pastor. He has served in that role since.

Mark Lehman was elected superintendent of the Los Angeles District on 26 June 2023. Lehman is currently the superintendent of the Southwest Oklahoma District.

Lehman will replace Greg Garman, who has served as superintendent since 2015. Lehman’s new assignment will be effective 1 August 2023.
A native of California, Lehman attended Anaheim First Church of the Nazarene with his family. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in biblical literature and a Master of Theology from Point Loma Nazarene University while serving at his home church in Anaheim. Lehman went on to attend Nazarene Theological Seminary, graduating in 1989 with a Master of Divinity.

Lehman’s first assignment after seminary was in Grandview, Washington, where he served as youth pastor from 1989 to 1995. In 1995, Lehman became senior pastor at the Sutter Creek Church of the Nazarene in Sutter Creek, California. He served there until his appointment as superintendent of the Southwest Oklahoma District in 2020.
