The MNU Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Daniel Rincones as vice president for student development, effective immediately. Rincones has served as dean of students for the university during the past year with responsibilities for residence life, student life, and student counseling services.

“Daniel has provided insightful and skilled leadership throughout his service to the university, and especially during this most challenging year,” said MNU President David Spittal. “I am looking forward to continued work with him as a key member of my leadership team.”

Rincones is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Counselor Education at MNU and serves local clients as a licensed professional counselor.

“I am thrilled about the opportunity to continue my work with MNU students,” said Rincones. “Our mission of creating a transformational experience in the lives of today’s students is more important than ever as they navigate young adulthood and societal issues while they earn their education.”

Previously, Rincones served at MNU as a resident educator and assistant chaplain. He was the youth pastor at Christ Community Church of the Nazarene in Olathe from 2008 to 2013. Rincones earned a Bachelor of Arts in Bible, Theology and Religion from MNU in 2009, the Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in spiritual formation in 2015, and certification in sexual addictions treatment in 2017.

Rincones and his wife, Kylee, a licensed professional counselor employed by the Olathe School District, reside in Olathe.
