The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 31 May-3 June 2022.

Charles Brightup, 79, of Wildomar, California, passed away 12 May 2022. He was a retired minister who served in California and New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Brightup.

Ilene Carpenter, 81, of Denver, Colorado, passed away 25 May 2022. She was the wife of Vernon Carpenter, a retired minister who served in Colorado, Missouri, North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Ohio.

Margaret Eyestone, 84, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away 23 May 2022. She was the wife of Jack Eyestone, a retired minister and district superintendent who served in Arizona, California, and Washington. He led the Missouri district from 1994 to 2008. 

Gretchen Payton, 85, of Bellville, Ohio, passed away 27 May 2022. She was the wife of Joseph Payton, a retired minister who served in Kentucky.

Melburn Sorensen, 83, of Clay City, Indiana, passed away 30 May 2022. He was a retired minister who served in Iowa, Indiana, and Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Dixie Sorensen.

Paul Sydenstricker, 90, of Lake Placid, Florida, passed away 25 May 2022. He was a retired minister who served in Virginia, Missouri, Ohio, West Virginia, and Florida. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sydenstricker.

Donald Wells, 82, of Bernie, Missouri, passed away 29 May 2022. He was a retired minister who served in Illinois and Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Donna Wells.

Lydia Wilson, 86, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away 28 May 2022. She was the widow of Joe Wilson, a retired minister who served in Texas and Arkansas.

The yellow stands for the sun and also the savannas in the northern part of the country, while the green is for the forests in the southern part of Cameroon.
