Joplin District elects new DS

General Superintendent J. K. Warrick announced the election of Philip Rhoades as superintendent of the Joplin District

Elected 1 June on the first ballot, Rhoades replaces Mark Bane, who resigned after four years in the position to lead Evangelism Ministries and New Church Development for the Church of the Nazarene's USA/Canada Region. 

Rhoades has pastored the Garnett, Kansas, Church of the Nazarene since 1988. He will begin his new assignment 1 July.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from MidAmerica Nazarene University and a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Philip and his wife, Rhonda, reside in Garnett, Kansas.
