A Flint mother who takes care of four children received the surprise Christmas gift of a lifetime, and a group of children at a church got a lesson on giving.

On Thursday afternoon, children and staff from New Lothrop Church of the Nazarene presented Flint resident Brittany Davis with a new car at Priority Children in Flint.

Pastor Andrew Bradshaw said the church staff came up with the idea in October, and presented it to the church's children at the end of the month. Bradshaw said the children and church patrons didn't sell any items to raise money: They simply gave their own money that they had already had, and the church held collections from the congregation for the month of November.

The Cameroon flag is a vertical tricolor of green, red and yellow, defaced with a five-pointed star in its center. The center stripe is thought to stand for unity: red is the colour of unity, and the star is referred to as "the star of unity." The yellow stands for the sun and also the savannas in the northern part of the country, while the green is for the forests in the southern part of Cameroon.
