The Grace Card to release on DVD
The Grace Card, a feature film project of Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Memphis, Tennessee, will release on DVD.
The DVD will be available August 16 in Christian bookstores, at video retailers, and online.
The Grace Card opened to a U.S. audience February 29. The screenwriter and producers wanted to tackle some tough issues within a gritty storyline of racial reconciliation wrapped in a police and family drama.
A personal tragedy has left officer Mac McDonald, played by veteran screen actor Michael Joiner, a bitter, angry soul. He blames his downward spiral on minorities, "the system," and God Himself. It all comes to a boil when Mac is paired with a new partner - African-American pastor and cop Sam Wright, played by Memphis resident Michael Higgenbottom. When the unthinkable happens to Mac, his only lifeline is grace, offered by the God he's abandoned, through the gift of a man he can barely stand.
The film also features Academy Award winner Louis Gossett Jr., who plays George Wright, a civil rights pioneer and long-time activist minister who provides wisdom and advice to Sam, his grandson.
