Ben Webb celebrated 70 years of Sunday School perfect attendance this past Sunday.

As part of the celebration, Webb was awarded the Second Mile Award from Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International.

Webb turned 80 in January, and he and his wife, Jean, have been members of the Porterville, California, Church of the Nazarene for more than 50 years.

SDMI Global Director Woodie Stevens sent a letter to Webb and the church, proclaiming June 26, 2011, as the Ben Webb Sunday School Day.

Stevens also congratulated Webb "for his outstanding accomplishment and his dedication to learning God's Word and setting the example for generations to follow, truly exemplifying a man of God seeking to become a Christ-like disciple."

Webb also received greetings from General Superintendent J.K. Warrick.

"What an astounding accomplishment!" Warrick wrote. "¿we pray that the richness of 'His Word planted in you' (James 1:21, NIV) will provide lasting fruitfulness as you continue to run the race in His name."
