The Church of the Nazarene in Argentina recently held its first in-person national meeting of the ministries since 2019. The event was called A lo Nuestro, meaning "in our own contexts.”

The goal was for the ministries and leaders to understand how to carry out the Great Commission within the contexts of our denomination, their local church, and the neighborhoods that they serve.

The meetings emphasized that the Lord's church has been entrusted to them and that they are to carry out that vision by training others to help the multiplication of disciples who make disciples.

Each ministry offered workshops that focused on how to continue extending the kingdom of God in the local churches of Argentina and how to reproduce the weekend trainings in each participant’s local contexts.

From 17-18 June, around 260 people were welcomed to Parque Nazarene de Pilar, a Nazarene campground and conference center. Among the attendees were pastors, regional, district and local church leaders, ministry leaders, and emerging leaders from the 12 Argentine districts. There was also an emphasis on carrying out the Great Commission through the various ministries, by the Living the Great Commission initiative, an organized evangelism initiative in South America.

The ministries present were evangelism, transformational leadership, compassion (NCM), youth (NYI), missions (NMI), discipleship (NDI), Maximum Mission, mobilization, marriages (CAFÉ), communications, women (MAM), and professionals, which is a new plane in Argentina.

After two years of pandemic and various times of confinement, people were extremely enthusiastic and expectant, and that attitude was reflected in each of the moments experienced during the meeting, especially the morning service on Saturday and in the two-night services.

The leaders of the ministries also met on several occasions to continue advancing with the Living the Great Commission (VGC) evangelism initiative, with the presenters being Milton Matheus, VGC regional coordinator; Allan Diaz, coordinator of evangelism in Venezuela; Christian Sarmiento, regional director for South America; Alessandro Polonio, strategy coordinator of the Southern Cone Field; Carlos Radi, leadership coordinator and holistic ministries coordinator for Argentina, and Pastor Robin Brunson.

According to those who attended the event, the presence of the Holy Spirit was evident, and it made a profound impact in the hearts of the people, especially through the messages brought by Polonio and Sarmiento.

“Through various comments from the people who attended, it was evident that the Lord made a difference through His Holy Spirit, placing [His] new dreams in each heart, which we hope to see come true soon for the glory of our God,” Sarmiento said.

The Cameroon flag is a vertical tricolor of green, red and yellow, defaced with a five-pointed star in its center. The center stripe is thought to stand for unity: red is the colour of unity, and the star is referred to as "the star of unity." The yellow stands for the sun and also the savannas in the northern part of the country, while the green is for the forests in the southern part of Cameroon.
