Lubumbashi, Congo (DRC) is a city of about 3 million people and the second-largest city in the Congo. There are many street children in Lubumbashi who have been abandoned and are on the street looking for food, clothing, and shelter. They don’t have basic school training, social training or spiritual training. “Under the Bridge” Ministries is an NGO started by Nazarene Church leaders and youth to help vulnerable children in Lubumbashi.

Phase 2 of this project includes making needed repairs and modifications to the buildings, equipping the center: 2 beds, linens, dining hall, kitchen with appliances, an office for the ministry with needed equipment (computer, printer, desk and chair), meeting room: 15 chairs, a large table, re-dig the well to have water on site and start a project to sustain the feeding and training of the children (including school fees) through farming/agriculture, develop workshops (mechanic, carpentry, and soldering to teach the children skills to earn a living) or find workshops already in operation and pay to send them.

Since there are more street children than can be accommodated in this center, there is also ministry to street children who have started attending one of the local churches. For the older children we want to provide skills training for life and for work within an environment of discipleship. Estimated cost of this phase is $20,000.
