I often get asked a simple question... How did I end up as a missionary in Guatemala? My answer is always simple, “The Lord called me.” At the age of 19, through the work of the Holy Spirit, I came to a crisis in my life, and I finally repented of my sin. I decided to follow Jesus in keeping with His words in Luke 9:23. “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” I was born again by the power of God’s Spirit and have never been the same since that day. Within 6 months, the Lord called me into full-time ministry. When I graduated from the University of Dayton, I was blessed with the opportunity to serve as the outreach pastor at Target Dayton Ministries (a ministry for the poor and homeless in downtown Dayton, Ohio). I had been serving there for four years, when I came on a mission trip to Guatemala. It was during that trip that I felt the Lord call me to come back to Guatemala long-term. I have answered God's call, and I am now an evangelist and church planter in Guatemala. I spent six months coordinating evangelism activities for Work & Witness. I am now going to Quiche, Guatemala which is one of the poorest and least-reached areas in the country to begin my long-term ministry. More than a million people live without clean water, sanitation, proper education, and most importantly without Christ. God has called me to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor and lost souls in this region of Quiche, Guatemala.
